A Foul Mouth with an Empty Mind

“That idea of peace and love toward humanity shouldn’t be nationalistic or denominational. It should be a chief concern for all mankind.” – Mos Def

Have we ever consider looking ourselves up in front of a mirror to see and realize our own flaws before checking out on others’ imperfections? Have we ever consider listening to both sides of an issue before we conclude to ourselves which is right or which is wrong and then decide where to stand? Have we ever consider the feelings of others before we start a disparagement and speak ill nonstop? Have we ever try to grasp the reality that we don’t? Because we’re trying to make peace and fight for love without realizing we’re actually starting a war. We speak foul before we think.

Look at how proud we are for all the achievements, titles, medals, trophies, and crowns we ever received. For all the praises and glories we offered to our country. These fames make us keep our eyes on the stars but never to keep our feet on the ground.  How thick-skinned we are to bash such a brave and talented entrant because of their shortcomings. They once brought us honor but we easily forget that when we’re dismayed of a single fault. Such a shame that we speak high to them when in reality they are the ones who’s keeping us up to the higher grounds.

Listen to those preaches that stray around your community. They will show you faith and the love of God. A perfect place to call a holy ground. One second you have your peace, then later on it will just banish with the thought of restlessness. “Maybe you are on a wrong church.” That’s how every other religion will try to feed you about your faith, about your beliefs. Those who we expect to lead us in a war-free zone, to teach us that love is more important than our egos, to accept the sinful criminals who want to atone for their crimes, to understand even the most complicated mind that questions God, are the ones that excludes and separates those people who can’t follow their rules.

Watch ourselves, we’re in deep hunger. We are the poor who acts like a dumb rich just to fit in. Watch ourselves but behold because there’s a fat man on the government that savors in our suffering. We aren’t a first world country and we’ll never be as long as we have this kind of mentality. We tend to save ourselves by tramping on others. We’re self-seeking flatterers who don’t care about our thirsty and famished neighbors. We’re just a mere sycophants who dreams for nothing. We’re leaders that cannot lead. We’re followers that cannot follow.

What is wrong is not our society itself. It is us who is living inside it that makes it wrong. Our individuality never seeks for humanity, love, peace, or even unity. The instinct of survival from this dying world is what keeping us from seeking the right thing. We save ourselves and let the others suffer. We notice and point the wrongdoings of other people but we can’t accept our own sins and delinquencies. We should keep in our minds that looking down to others will not make us reach the top. That speaking ill of your neighbor without considering the truth will not make us rich. Love is love, peace is peace, and humanity is humanity. There is no and what ifs in between.

  1. Filipinos should read this advocacy, especially to those taking advantage the power of internet to bash others. This advocacy is needed in our country because people with empty minds are increasing. Empty minds such as people humiliating others or bashing one person without knowing the story behind. An empty mind such as people keeps on giving their opinions but really don’t understand what is the issue all about. Nowadays, people are trying hard to be a person that they are really not. Maybe it’s because of our generation today that we are swallowed by the technologies and our attitudes to the net has changed.

I think Rizal will support this advocacy. If he’s still alive he can see how awful is happening in our country now especially to millennial. Rizal would not let a person to be humiliated or judge without understanding the situation. Dr. Jose Rizal fought for our country to attain freedom but not the freedom to underestimate your fellowmen. Education is really important to Rizal so he will surely support this advocacy to implement discipline and learning, and stop wide spreading the people that have foul mouth with an empty mind.

  2. a social movement is vital because it ameliorates and changes our society for the betterment. It seeks to eradicate the ills of the society and rapidly modifies it. The social ills such as gender discrimination, political injustice, and inequality for women, ought to address and solve by the social movements in organizing their association. Hence, it definitely promotes the equality, emancipation, and morality between the society for preventing chaos. However, the social movement should arrange for the common good of the people and not from making the society in mayhem.

The advocacy of the article that I read was all about the crab mentality of the people, precisely, happening here in the Philippines. The article is essential because it amends the perspective of the Filipino people in that attributes, since, the crab mentality of the Filipino was depicted years ago. So, now this blog actually the starting point to disseminate information to change your attitudes in bringing down your fellow or even friends because others used to do that! (maybe their habits!). It is really abhorrent that someone who is your loved ones bringing you down though you made them succeed in the first place. Therefore, you should think first and make something to pay back the goodness even others pay you back badly because this would begin to sprout rectitude and they will pay it forward.

  4. it hasn’t been that new to us- this issue, but as long as they wouldn’t stop, this advocacy won’t either. this issue will not end, we’re only humans. but what we can fight to change is we promote PEACE. I’m not sure if this would work, all i know is- that is where all it ends.

this social movement is important to reel ourselves away from disparagement. we may be not taking this seriously because it is kind of common to pull others down but as long as we have this kind of thinking of putting ourselves in their shoes, we would know. empathy. a foul mouth with an empty mind, great example and a right point to those people who are most likely to be done these things, they won’t grow unless they are the ones whose being attacked.

  5. This was a very meaningfull article that may inform everyone about whatvis happening in our country like political injustice, discrimination, and inequality. It give overview about the government work now a days. It also include the crab mentality of the filipino. While reading this article one question pop up in my mind and that is ; ” oo nga nu? , bakit ba naghihilaan pababa ang mga pilipino imbis na magtulungan sila para makabangon. And if they become successfull some of them have already forgot were they came from.
If rizal was still alive he will support this advocacy because rizal want us to prosper, to be a disciplened person and a person that cares for others and for there economy. And rizal doesnt want a situation to be judge without knowing the real cause.

  6. 1. What is the importance of this social movement in the society?
The importance of this social movement is the improvement of ourselves so that we’ll be productive members of the society. Also it is about someone’s role in the society. Everyone of us has our own title or role in this society. It is up to us if we’re gonna let this role rule us or we’ll just ignore this rule and go one with our own lives without thinking about the welfare of other people. Also this social movements made me realize that is is not the society that is wrong for us, but we ourselves is the wrong people living in this society, because we only seek for individualism when in face we should also think of other people’s feelings.

    2. Why is this advocacy important to change the society?
This advocacy is important to change the society because when all people will not be individualistic then this society will become a better place to live in. Also speaking ill or doing ill to your neighbors will not do anything good to us. It will just boost our ego if we don’t like that certain someone. Also we don’t need to conform to the standards of others in order for us to fit in. With your own abilities we can make this society a better place to live in and we can make everyone realize that they too, can shine in their own ways without compromising their own likes or dislikes.

  8. I, Mary Grace Jadloc, combating against discrimination for human rights. Human Rights by definition is subjected to right to life, to equality, work, education and in freedom of express. In the Philippines, there are a lot of people exploited, targeted in discrimination, victimized and their opportunities had been denied because Filipinos are well-known for its crab mentality. People with ethical egoism, brilliant, classified in a high class, riches and especially government who abuses their power and taking advantage their authorities to stoop down, discriminate, belittle and deny opportunities to people who are successful in their endeavor. The advocacy by the class of ECE152 is needed in raising awareness to our countrymen.

A humble, brave and a brilliant national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal will support the anti-discrimination for human rights advocacy because he believed in equality of men and women regardless of gender, sex, nationality, education and socio-economic status of his fellowmen. As Rizal fought for the redemption of his oppressed people, he doesn’t want Filipinos to become an inferior to its fellow men. He wants us to unite and help each other to promote the Philippines for its greatness and be proud to all the Filipinos who sacrificed themselves to fight for our country. Rizal will support the empowerment of our nation and will surely write again pointing the wrong doings of our corrupt government and high officials. He once said,”Kabataan ang Pag-asa ng Bayan.” If these things are still happening in our country especially crab mentality, the mere fact that millenials are following this lead, Rizal will make a move and we must make a change.

  9. It’s funny how an individual see himself as flawless when in reality, those who look themselves as in this kind are the ones who are flawed in the first place. People will always find their own bench to put themselves in a higher position because first, they feared to be shamed; so before anyone can harm them, they will harm first – man’s defense mechanism at its finest. And lastly, pulling others under someone’s wing has been the label that stained the tags of man so as to survive; to be on top, to be hungry for more in the most humiliating and unethical but fastest way. Blabber mouthing makes people be blind of their own flaw because man seeks every single good thing that he has and can be proud of just to make others see themselves as small. This advocacy adheres highly in branding those Mr and Ms “Perfects” about awareness; awareness that could wake not just only their minds, but moreover the humanity inside them so as for everyone to have a common ground.

Basic things are the ones that are hard to comply to. Because these are the smallest things people missed just because they are basic. Thinking must be a basic thing before speaking but what’s happening is we speak first before we think – we, then again, forget the basic. If by chance Rizal is still living, he’ll stand strong with this advocacy by saying: wake up. But the plot twist would probably be, he will say this in the most complex way – as complex now is the new basic. People are having hard time to remind themselves about the basic, so why not take the other way around.

  11. I, Joobin Park would like to comment about the importance of this kind of social movement to the security. This kind of social movement talks about peace and love towards humanity shouldn’t be nationalistic and denominational but it should be the concern for all man kind. This means that the attainment of peace and love in this world would not only focus to a specific region or country. It should not also be based on a specific religion but also it should be served to everyone. Everyone should know the good value of love and peace so that there is a guaranteed security for everyone that no war will destroy the beauty of the world’s harmony. Peace and love should be for all the living creations here on earth and everyone should perform it.

This advocay plays a great part in the societal change becuase it is the concern of peace, love and security for all living creations here on earth. This advocacy of thinking first before speaking out will make a great impact on changing people’s perception on how could love and peace maintain the harmony and systematic processes in this world. This advocay talks about that not all problems can be resolved through deadly weapons and power. It tries to make people understand that proper thinking, proper conscience, love and understanding are the keys to solve the problem of man kind and other creatures living in our planet.

  12. This advocacy clearly describes what the current mindset of a Filipino has. I have seen and heard Filipinos badmouth their own, both online and offline, and this has proven to be sickening. We tend to admire people with achievements but they are stuck in their own life with no goals. People trying to bring each other down with words is now common in social media, and it appears that they quite enjoy the act. Instead of giving advice they instead laugh and insult people who did something wrong. I am hoping that this advocacy can reach other people so that they can re-evaluate themselves and walk a better path. Change starts in one’s self and it should be done while it’s not too late.

  13. Basically, an advocacy like “A foul Mouth with an Empty Mind” is a very important advocacy, for us, the students and for the people who are very expressive in their thoughts that sometimes, they inadvertently neglect to bring their real point… hmm… I don’t know, is it for the likes or for the views? Or just to get the attention of their crush? Just kidding. It gives awareness for the people to think critically and a presentation on what is the real context of critical thinking especially the society, the people nowadays are much concern about the occurrences in government, economics, and entertainment. Advocacy about responsible action to certain issue is a gateway for the people to realize what is the point of being “in point”, what are the attributes you need to have for you to produce a “good point” and how you perceive different points, whether good or bad points, for you to see the top view of the issue and produce a solution, which is “solution” is a good point for having a good mouth 

Most of the people in this generation are the slave of media. Television, movie and the most superior within the superiors, social media wherein most the youth, students, adults, feeling adults, professionals, and feeling professionals are using Facebook and other social media application. As the people became active in expressing their ideas and opinions, they also became ambiguous on what they are fighting and why they are fighting because what I see in the trends nowadays especially on Twitter, people are about to get attention by earning likes and followers which I guess, basically the most irrelevant argument you will be ever encountering in finding a certain solution. Yes, okay, opinions are opinions, I will say what I want to say because this is a free country. But face the reality, in every opinion of Filipinos, we are taking one side, just one side, people. We are having the biases, our idols, our chickens, our star for the night. Due to cultural factors, people must think before they click, because if every people will going to take the top view of the issue, people will see both sides, people will see the reality.

  14. This day many people intended to do what they come in to their mouth without realizing that they need to think before they jump to a conclusion or to a certain situation that might hurt other people feelings. Sometimes if we are angry or feeling upset in some things we`re not calming our self because we don`t care about what we are saying if it is bad or good, we just focusing on what our ego need to tell or speak about. Every people in this world should know how to remain calm and should be an open-minded person in every situation we are encountering everyday by turning bad things into a good one. We should have a positive mindset, and we need to feed our mind a lot of information about the true reality of life. We need to calm, relax and have an understanding mind to understand our inner soul to have a better perspective in our life. And “Before speaking please make sure your tongue is connected to your brain”.

  15. A foul mouth with an empty mind: A timely and relevant advocacy pinpointing how messed up our society was that would eventually left you hanging how far people can go into in their search for fame and glory. How far people can go into in order for them to fit in. Sometimes, people look at you like there is something strange in you, you’ll catch them staring out of the corner of your eye and shudder. Their sidewalk glances that will pass through you that would utterly make you feel judged and unaccepted. And yes, welcome to 21st Century. A century where people is used to portraying the role of Doña Victorina de Espadaña whom although a native herself looked down on her own people as an inferior being and Padre Damaso, who doesn’t even practice what he preach and spread pernicious ideas among the other people.

If and only if, our national hero, were given a chance to live again. He might still be doing the same thing to support this advocacy, but this time his fight is not with the ones trying to colonize his nation but rather his fight is with the people whom he used to awakened the minds to seek for independence. He might have been saying that we had been way abusive of the independence that was granted to us to the point of practicing those things he was strongly against with during the Spanish colonization. It is in reality that the Spanish bullets which killed Rizal destroyed his brain but it is in no doubt that it is the ideas that spawned in his brain destroyed the Spanish empire. He then proved that the pen is mightier than the sword. Everyone, wake up. Let us not wait for our national hero to prove it to us the second time around. Let the change begin to each and every one of us. Ciao!

  16. This advocacy is crucial in today’s world, where people judge others for being different; where people think of others lowly; where people perceive themselves as better species compared to the others. It is important that people, especially the youth, know that making such judgments, having adverse remarks or just thinking negatively towards other people does not and would never make them better than them or anyone else. Moreover, it will only corrupt their minds and give them more reasons to hate the world that we currently live in. This advocacy can serve as an eye-opener to anyone who chooses to read it with their hearts and not only with their minds.

The world that we live in today is already unbearably cruel, and adding up to the cruelty that it already has will only make the burden even heavier, so judgments (or misjudgments, should I say) are not really needed and will not help in the progress that our society would like to attain or achieve. This advocacy is important as it has the power to change the minds (and hearts) of people who are guilty of doing the things that were mentioned in the article. We can start from oneself and from there, we can continue changing the society little by little, with baby steps as they say. Erase one judgment at a time, one adverse remark at a time, until we are finally free from all the diabolic thoughts that linger in our minds – which make us unhealthy, unloving and unproductive members of the society.

  17. The problem in our society was that most of the people nowadays are so perfectionist that they always see the failures of other people rather than the success of those people. In this world, no one is born to be perfect, we all have imperfections but not all of us can accept it that’s why instead of blaming ourselves because of a failure, we blame other people. Just like in our society, people always see the imperfections and failures of other people as if they are perfect to judge them and make those people feel useless and hurt. When one person failed, everyone will say something bad to him/her even though it is part of the nature of a human to have failures in life. People don’t see the goodness to everyone instead they chose seeing the bad side and making that person who failed to pay for what he/she had failed to done even though all of it wasn’t really her own fault because sometimes one of the factor why other people had failures because they are too afraid to be judged by everyone until their actions are being affected of what they think.

It is important to support this advocacy because for me, if this kind of problem in the society continues, this will not only show how judgemental the people are in our society but also it will also show that our country lacks unity. We, in the society, should work together, help each other, love each other and support each other no matter what happen. I support this advocacy because I want the people in our society to think before saying anything to someone or making comments about the lives of other people and let them see their situation first if they really have the right to give such comments. This is also an important advocacy because instead of making those people feel down because of their failures, we should make them realize that failure is a part of our learning in life and because we are born with imperfections, failure is a way for us to avoid making another mistake. All of us has our failure in life, and that’s why it is important to support this advocacy to make the other people who only see the failures of other people, to understand how those people feel being left behind, judged even though they did their best and how ashamed they were.

  18. In our country today, some only knows how to talk, how to judge, how to destroy other lives by means of their tongue. Everyone always have something to say about everything. They always judge something about what they only see. Some becomes a judge, some becomes an analyst, some becomes a discriminator, even some becomes a grammar specialist for the use of embarrassing someone.

In this present time, with the involvement of social media, people are starting to express their feelings, their wants, their opinions, but everything is not in the positive ways. Some people’s purpose is to bash, give bad opinions, etc. This should be stop. Everything should be in peace. One thing i would like to tell them is that. If you have nothing nice to say, just keep your mouth shut.

This crab mentality of ours should be stop if we want our country to develop. We should be united, we should be as one, we shouldn’t pull our fellow countrymen down by means of destroying their lives through your voices. But rather you must help them. Once we stop this mentality, i hope our country will change/develop. Because as long as we are united, we can face challenges easily.

  19. Social media is the best possible way on making it to the top but at the same time losing everything. It is being used to stepped on, to make fun of, bash and ruin someone elses’ lives when it is supposed to be used in good terms and in an informative way. As our society grows, people changes in a way that they are not fully aware of the consequences of their actions. We want to grow, to be matured, to be more powerful and influencial than others for a reason of public attention. We all are thirsty of public attention whether we deny it or not and time will come when that greediness will eat the tiny portion in ourselves that is still holding on the idea of contentment and confidence. Social media is like a vitamin capsul and we are the content, it is keeping us intact in a very small space where everyone is trying to fit in. As a content of the capsul, we cannot do anything. We cannot explore, learn new things and be able to mature, instead we follow what others do because it is what we thought is right, the usual and a cool thing. But when that capsul has been dissolved, we, the content, has been freed, there can be a huge changes. We can do different things, we can explore, learn new things, be mature enough and think outside of the box and it is what our society needs. Being able to mature and learn unity.

I think and believe that if ever our national hero would still be alive today, he will definitely support this advocacy. For a reason that he once fought for our freedom and unity and will not hesitate to do the same thing again because of the love that he has for our country and fellow Filipinos’. He is also a great poet and a man who understand a persons suffering. He fought for our freedom from the colonizers, but this time he will fight for our freedom from our own self, from our own crab mentality, from our selfishness and from our own greediness. He is a man of his word and I think that it is more than enough reason for him to lead this kind of advocacy to help release those people who are imprisoned in their own idea of perfection.

  20. The thought of the advocacy highlights on of the weaknesses in a Filipino character. The very purpose of this article I believe is to understand the nature of the society as well as to understanding mediocrity and its consequences.
one of the major fails today is the lack of appreciation. the disease in the society in where people think it’s allowed to talk negative of others on every available opportunity. I’d strongly disagree and I come here to say that it’s not okay.
speaking Negative about other people in all reasons or aspects won’t help you in gaining anything. it can only be adverse affect on the person being violated. it is very essential to understand self first truly before striking on others. always practice to review self first before making conclusions or negative opinions specially online. so manage to succeed without destroying someone’s reputation and try to be careful with words.

I’m sure many can relate to this article. To whoever that is reading this, always remain positive and focus on youself, manage to say nice things, Do good and say good things to others. Everything comes back

  21. This article will certainly make us fathom the current happenings going on in our society. An advocacy such as this one shouldn’t be just ignored. Basically this article pertain to how people are adapting to crab mentality. we opt to pull others into a situation wherein he/she will be in a greatest downfall. we don’t care if we have belittle someone. we certainly judge a person being different, being not as famous as you are, being just a commoner, thinking of themselves as highly than the others. Nowadays, many are into social media. They do things that could make them famous even it is inappropriate to do and especially do things that could even harm someone intentionally. we tend to do things beyond the capacity of a good humane. What they don’t realize is that they are putting themselves in absurd situation including the society itself. Instead we must try not to be the cause to someone’s agony. Therefore we need to be the one to uplift the society by doing the right thing with a positive mindset, faith and courage. Before you assume, learn the facts or the whole story. Before you judge, understand why and find out the reasons before concluding. Before you hurt someone, try to empathize. Before you speak, think ahead.

Our national hero will probably be disapppinted with how our society turned out. If only if Rizal is alive perhaphs he will also support this advocacy and even promote it for it to be notice so that everyone will become fully aware of the manifestation of the current generation. Lets not waste the sacrifices that they have gone through to attain freedom. Freedom that was bestowed upon us with many lives that were taken. We shouldn’t take everything for granted lets take this as a wake up call for each one of us. May this serve as the beginning of something new because progress is impossible without change. So change starts from ourselves.

  22. A foul mouth with an empty mind is one of the important advocacy. Our society , full of problems and one of that was those people who are judgemental. Why is that so? For me, maybe they are insecure, they do not like that person very much or they are not contented for what they have. There are a lot of reasons why. People always see the imperfections and mistakes of others. But sad to say , they do not look for their own mistakes and then they see the mistakes of other people. Every person had a mistake. We are not also perfect to judge them and ti made them useless. We should keep in our minds that looking down to others will not make us to reach on the top. The importance for supporting this advocacy is to determine and identify the problem of being judgemental. I’ve notice that this advocacy is the starting point for us Filipinos change our attitudes. And this blog made me realize that we need to accept ourselves for what we are and to be contented of what we have.

  23. This activism is highly crucial, due to the fact that the biggest problem in our society is us Filipinos care too much about other people’s businesses in which it doesn’t concern us what they do with their lives. But we are too keen and easy to judge other people, we care too much and we get ahead of ourselves, and judge other people for their mistakes small or big, we only see their mistakes and faults and not the good parts. Just because they are not perfect that doesn’t mean you, or me are perfect, we fail in all circumstances, there are no uneducated people. We all have our own opinions but it doesn’t give us the delicacy to choose whether they are wrong or right. I will not exempt myself in this discourse because, I sometimes judge other things too, which is not a good thing, the people now in this generation young or elderly, they all have the need to speak for themselves so they go on and talk and say something, to the point in which they don’t care anymore whether what they are saying will have an impact to the other party like hurt them. They talk about other people out of fun, which is bad and disgusting, they consider themselves high and proud, but they are just people with nothing but their foul mouth, what good is wealth, fame, or education if you don’t know how to use it for the right reasons. What happened to the golden rule “Do not do unto others, what you don’t want other do unto you”?, Speak only when you know it’s right.

This movement or advocacy, is good, and I think our National hero Dr. Jose Rizal will support it because, he went through it, he was judged and misunderstood, other people also saw only his mistakes which is minimal mistakes, and he’s mistakes can’t make up for all the success, help and rights he granted on this country and figuratively to us. We are the ones benefiting it. His voice was not heard, the Spaniards are just too lazy and greed driven to even listen to him, they didn’t think before killing him, and they talked about him like he’s some dirt on their shoes, so I highly think that this advocacy will make Rizal proud, because, at least some people are doing the things that Rizal couldn’t do for himself, or couldn’t finish what he started and that some people, are still fighting for peace.

  24. This advocacy is about the people in the society who always say words without even thinking. Seriously sometimes i’m one of them. I say things unexpectedly that cause misunderstanding and can hurt feelings. Sometimes for me it’s only a joke but when you realized what you say you will regret saying those words. It can also affect friendship. Why? because i already experienced it i say things without thinking and hurt the feelings of my friend and the result of it she ignores me and not talking to me for weeks. Because of my foul mouth i hurt her. This article hits me and it is one of the common problem now a days especially in teenagers like me.

I support this adcocacy just to open the mind of the society that speaking without thinking will make a great impact in people not really physically but emotionally and psychologically. In this day it’s very common in social media especially on facebook commenting on friendship an unnecessary words instead of just ignoring it they instead making fun of it. I hope this advocacy awake people of what they are doing and put in their mind the quote “THINK BEFORE YOU SPEAK”.

  25. Well the article’s message is that people shouldn’t be selfish with their own. We shouldn’t live for our own because whats more important in living is giving and sharing what we have. But the problem is people nowadays are trying their hardest to build walls to those who have less in their lives. Its in the quote that the idea of peace and love shouldn’t be denominational. It should be to all mankind which means love everybody whether she’s broke or rich, he’s skinny or fat. Because the true meaning of love doesn’t see the race or standards of the person. It is who you love for who they are. It is how much you give without returns. It’s just awful to hear that people who have the same race and standards give in returns to each other. How about those who have. less? Thats why people suffer from poverty not just the people but the country because they don’t help the needy.
What is wrong to our society is they never seem so fair. They keep on raising their prides and ego’s. We never apply the “Humanity, love, peace, fairness and respect” to ourselves. and also degrading and judging someone’s life. Some kept on pointing fingers to other people. Some always notice other people’s mistake but they never notice their own delinquencies. Why? Because people are too good judging others wrong doings.Thats why our society can’t do any good at all. Because we keep on centralising others life. Instead of helping them to stand what we do is we only help them to fail. Why? Because of insecurities and people never get contented.

  26. Thats why our society can’t do any good at all. Because we keep on centralising others life. Instead of helping them to stand what we do is we only help them to fail. Why? Because of insecurities and people never get contented.

  27. A foul mouth with an empty mind is one of the important advocacy. in our society some people when they come to do somethings for there self they do not realize that they may hurt some others people life maybe they understand the idea of love only for people they know and that it is a big problem in the society, because may it make war between the people. and the most of the people they do not think before they speak, our god in ISLAM told us Do no harm because if there is harm, there will be no peace in the world,
for the movement of Philippines national hero Dr. Jose Rizal he support it , he make groups to fight the Spanish out from the Philippines until he die by the Spanish I really appreciate that hero what he did ,in this time there is no more type of people like Rizal, if there is they cant do anything for the Philippines because the are getting afraid from the judgement, actually since I arrived to Philippines it was dangerous and there was a lot of drug addict in the street, it like kind dangerous to go out in the night, for now there is the new President which his name Rodrigo Duterte he start to make the Philippines better than before.

  28. A foul mouthed with an empty mind is one of the important issues we are facing. In every society there are some narcissist people claiming that they know it all and act upon that and do and say things without realizing that they may hurt other people. They could be could good people with pure intentions towards the people they love but without considering the public, from that major issues and conflicts could result. The mankind went through wars and massacres because of some empty minded people who reached to power in some way and ruled with an absolute ignorance.
for the movement of Philippines national hero Dr.

  29. We achieved nine times and failed once. But in our society the one you failed is what they can recognized and bash nor criticize you. This is one of the most problem in our society because the society never appreciate the achievements of someone but only the failures. They never think of what someone done just to achieve their dreams. Society leave comments not knowing of what they are talking about.
I think Rizal will suport this social movement because he never spoke foul words against the spanish when he wrote Noli and El Feli. He wrote those from his heart knowing what is really happening in our country. He listened both sides, reason by reason and then judge who’s being descriminated and help to deffend them.

  30. There are many leading problem in the society now a days. The people now a days will point the wrongdoings of other people but can’t accept the sins of our own especially the foul mouthed and the empty mind. They will look down to others and speak ill without considering the truth.
What is wrong is not our society itself. It is us who is living inside it that makes it wrong.

Rizal will advocate this and support because of his love of our country and all the Filipino. Rizal will support against the bashers, empty mind who always discriminate other people. Because Rizal is seeking for Humanity, Love, Peace and Unity.

  32. Some may say that this article mirrors how Filipinos are known for having the “Crab Mentality”. I do not disagree. But thinking about it deeper, this article doesn’t just focus on Filipinos. It tackles about People in general. No matter what race you are, no matter where country you’re in, you are still human/people. And people have this innate thought that they are superior and higher from other people. Sometimes, we people, think too highly of ourselves we often forgot that we are just humans. And humans are flawed. There are also some instances that every time something is wrong, we tend to look for someone/something to blame instead of looking for answers or solution. People should be aware that its not a good trait pinpointing the flaws and mistakes of others but we cant see our own shortcomings. i admit, I sometimes experience this, I notices the wrong of others without knowing my own shortcomings. We can support this advocacy by starting this to ourselves. instead of wasting/spending our time to list down the mistakes and criticize others, why don’t we just spend our time improving ourselves.

  33. I strongly agree with this article specially on the quote: “That idea of peace and love toward humanity shouldn’t be nationalistic or denominational. It should be a chief concern for all mankind.” – Mos Def. Specially on this day and age we talk more than we do and we criticize more than we improve ourselves and specially on us Filipino’s we always have our judge mental minds to others before we even look at ourselves. We want to see our country men to succeed but not to the point that they over achieve on what you achieve as a person. Many of us has the personality of ” a know it all person” we tend to tell what we believe that we know is right but in reality its total bullsh*t or it has no sense at all. You might believe that you are right and smarter to people but the truth is you are not and you just end up hurting other people feelings. People nowadays tend to speak and speak without thinking and that’s why i think that we are ending up here talking about A Foul Mouth with and Empty Mind. In my opinion be sensitive on what you are saying is a must specially when your emotions gets the best out of you, you will have the tendencies to speak things that might trigger others to have arguments with you and it will cause a chain so on and so fort with other people. Its like in Social Media where in you bash other people some will comment their agreement on what you were saying and some will defend the person that you are bashing and the outcome will have our “netizens” a social media war for hours or days. In my opinion the solution toward this is just to be sensitive and respectful and mindful to others before you speak.

  35. Words cannot express how I truly feel about this advocacy, The problem with our society today is that they speak without knowing anything, it’s even termed with a famous word today “mema.” I cannot say I am not one of the person who speaks without knowing anything, we have all been there, but I have learned from my mistake, If we don’t know anything, we should learn to keep our mouths shut. If we’re about to enter ourselves into an argument, we need to make sure that we are info-wealthy. I support this advocacy because of how much true the contents are. There are many public figures to set as an example for this one.

  36. I’ve encountered a lot of people which I can relate with these kind of problem, those people are like noisy can but they have nothing inside if I let my self to entertain them and talk about what my interests are they won’t appreciate it because they talk too much but less on interests. On a circle of friends if one is talking on a non sense thing and others might not react on that thing,I support this advocacy because this is the fact and this is what I’ve experienced at all

  37. These were among the reminders the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) gave on Wednesday to Filipino voters when they elect their leaders in the coming May polls.
In a pastoral statement, the CBCP, led by its president, Lingayen-Dagupan Archbishop Socrates Villegas, said it was necessary for Filipinos to decide whether they want leaders who just give out cash or those real sincere to help the people.

Can I be honest? I wish there were some way to announce over a loudspeaker system outside every church, “The worship zone is for learning, listening, and changing only. No parking! Be alert! Listen carefully. Truth will be deposited in your head that is designed to change your life.” But chances are good that even if a loudspeaker made such an announcement, the same thing would occur—folks would still “park” and turn a deaf ear to the recording and give pastoral police officers the runaround.

    Nathaniel Renegado 🙂

  38. its always been a problem to our society, we are judgmental but cannot judge our own doings we kept on talking spreading the flaws of every other person but when it comes to our self we’re just like them. It is always easy to forget the rights things we did but always remember the wrong things we did. Many of us have this kind of traits the crab mentality we always seek we always compete we always seek for the best instead of focusing to the weaknesses that we should train. We always bring each other down. We should stop this kind of mentality for us to be professionals on our own we should consider humanity in our own not because we have to but because we want to. Always remember that when you put other person down you’re on their level, you cannot down a person when you’re not like them.

Discrimination, bullying, this is no new for us each of us have been into a lot of criticism, but we as well have criticized others. My point here is that change is on our own, if we start to discipline our very self the nation we are in will hopefully change as well.

My experiences in life thought me number of things, and this advocacy reminds me of my mom sayings “bago ka manghusga ng iba, tingnan mo muna ang sarili mo”, and ” ilagay mo ang sarili mo sa pusisyon ng iba bago ka magsalita ng kontra sa kanya”

  54. Those people who are bully are often times the one who have many flaws . They seem to be strong but the truth is that they are weak inside and they are afraid that someone might find out of their weakness. Discrimination and bullying must be given attention by our government because many commits suicide because of this. Those people who are doing this act should be given heavier punishments. ( ELE151)

  55. WELL SAID. This is really happening in our society. It’s like a disease that most have. People tend to interfere with others and they have lots of words to say. Especially if you made a mistake, brace yourself criticism is coming. Because of discrimination, some people are already afraid of doing something they want because if they fail, they will hear a lot of comments around them. In social medias, it’s like a habit that a Filipino often bash his co- Filipino. It’s just they are enjoying hurting ones’ feeling.

the problem and the solution is in us, it depends on us if we are willing to act for it.

  56. This is the one problem in our society, people voicing out whats on their mind even they dont know the real story. Judging anyone, not thinking what will be the effect. I support this advocacy because it is the reality in this generation, For us to know how to respect each other.

  57. This advocacy is truly helpful. Before saying or judging others and telling it to someone, we must ask them first if the words will they say is gonna be helpful for the subject(person), if not, ask them again if it will be beneficial to you? if not , tell them not to continue what they are saying.
We must have a law that every gossipers should be complaint to an official and give them a fine of 50,000 or jail them for atleast 6months because of their habit that seriously destroy our great society

  58. The majority would say that respect must be earned by an individual but for me, it is not. There must be this automatic respect for every individual no matter what their appearance, belief and attitude might be. It’s just a matter of acceptance. But refraining from doing anything in accordance with societal norms seemed to be the cause of unreasonable humiliation and belittling of people who doesn’t belong to the category of the accepted as they have done something peculiar. They’ve become objects of laughter and victims of bullying. In line with this, I would like to propose a law which will be recognized as “An Act Against Profanity” or “Republic Act 90112”. You might have been pondering how this differs from the anti-bullying act. This law focuses on verbal attacks, use of offensive words and public humiliation. Therefore, an individual who will do any of these will be entitled to a 20-hour community service. Failure to comply with the required hours of community service will result to a three to six months imprisonment

  59. Bullying has led many teenagers, especially high school students, perform poorly in school. With this, I would like to mandate an amendment that supports the Anti-bullying law. This entails the automatic expulsion of the bully. For sure, this will hinder anyone from bullying and the performance of the students will improve over a period of time.

  60. Being too much confident that we aren’t hurting someone is one of the reason why this bullies (without them knowing they are) keep on humiliating someone. Have you ever try to tease one of your friends? Sometimes this friend of us got offended on the things we impose to him/her without us noticing it pushes them to overthink. I wanted to make a law that primarily concerns on the behavior of the students who are being bully and the bullies as well. Each school should counsel all the students to prevent any further damages. This law shall known as “Prevention of Bullying” Everybody should be attending seminars that will be lead by any psychologist or psychiatrist or maybe guidance counselor to avoid people who gets bullied and also to the bullies to make them realize the little actions they will make can actually make once life change into something we didn’t expect.
