Blogger Award: Blue Sky Tag Challenge

The Blue Sky Tag Challenge: A Blogging Award By theuglywriter

Hello there, uglies! It is that time of the week again when I have to steal the show from your regular reading pleasure. Something good came up. We are, once again, nominated but this time, for the Blogger Award: Blue Sky Tag Challenge by our good friend Mr. Anant Shahi of Evolving Perceptions.

But unlike any other blogging awards, I find this really interesting as I have to answer a few questions. I loooooove answering questionnaires.

So without further ado, here we go!

My Blue Sky Tag Design

Interview

Q1. What inspired you to start a blog?

I have been writing my entire life. Having been in the academe, it occurred to me that other than wanting people to read what I write, I found out that I also love promoting fellow writers’ work as well. I think is is my new calling. So a once blog site is now a literary magazine for professional and amateur bloggers/writers.

Q2. If you were to write a book about yourself, what would be the title?

What else but “The Rise of The Ugly Writers: Expose on slobs who write well

Q3. What is your biggest achievement in life?

To be able to control how my mind works. I used to think I’m weird and all. I figured that I just think differently. And by writing, I found that I can just turn On and Off my inner weirdness.

Q4. How do you want to improve yourself next year?

I am ever changing – ever improving. Instead, I’ll just think the question is “what will you have improved under a year?“. With that, I could probably say that hopefully by then I could’ve grown this site’s popularity immensely. It’s very challenging to do this having two jobs and then some.

Q5. What is your biggest fear?

I think k my only fear right now is to realize my blog is irrelevant. My main purpose of starting this site is to encourage people to write and read again. Knowing that I failed to do so would be devastating for me.

Q6. What do you do in your spare time?

If I’m not blogging you mean? I work as a College Instructor for a university during most days and as Communications Specialist during weekends. If neither, I’m at home on my boxers watching Netflix or reading a good book.

Q7. In blogging, what is your ideal working environment?

Anywhere with a good internet connection and with a power socket.

Q8. If you were given a million dollars today, what would be the first thing you’d buy?

I would invest it on stocks and pay back my folks and give a vacation they deserve (including me and the missus!). I would also save some for my own family.

Q9. What is the best compliment you’ve received?

You look slim today!

Q10. Who has infuenced you in blogging and how?

Nobody. I’ve always dreamt of doing one. But the push to do a literary magazine were my world literature students. They kept pestering me to have an all-original materials instead of my usual lecture of classical and contemporary lit.

Whew. That took a while.
