Tv Show Review: Riverdale

Riverdale Review By Tracy

So sitting here on this Sunday night, I just wrapped up a tv show called Riverdale. Let me tell you it will keep you on your toes! If you like Pretty Little Liars you will love this show. If you google Riverdale this is the synopsis you get and it’s completely accurate:

Archie Andrews starts the school year with the world weighing on his shoulders. He’s decided he wants to pursue a future in the music business, but his recently ended clandestine relationship with the music teacher has left him without a mentor, and his friendship with Jughead Jones is in a bad place. Things look like they might be turning around when Veronica Lodge, a new girl, arrives. Despite the instant chemistry, Veronica is hesitant to risk a friendship with Betty — who has a crush on Archie — to pursue anything. Amidst all the small-town banality lurks a mystery: the recent tragic death of Jason Blossom, the twin brother of beautiful and popular troublemaker, Cheryl.

I just learned today it is based off of the Jughead and Archie comics. I have read though that it doesn’t follow the comic books. Most reviews on IMDB say that if your looking for the original Archie comics, this show is not for you. If you haven’t read them like myself then there shouldn’t be a problem with you liking them. Each character in this show stuck out to me in different ways. One, in particular, of the characters Cheryl Blossom who is played by Madelaine Petsch is a phenomenal actress. She doesn’t seem to be in many movies right now. There also isn’t much about her as a person, on IMDB (see link for name). That gorgeous red hair will definitely draw you to her though. All of the actors and actresses in this are phenomenal despite my picks. There’s only one I’ve seen so far that I know from other movies or tv shows. That is Madchen Amick. Just her name alone is interesting if you ask me. Her first name is German for girl. She was born and raised in Nevada, so not outside of the US despite her name. She plays Alice Cooper in Riverdale. I personally have watched her in Witches of Eastend and my absolute favorite tv show Gossip Girl. She is great in whatever she’s in. Riverdale is no exception. I, myself, am from a small town like Riverdale, but I can safely say nothing to the extent of what’s in here goes on where I live. At least if it does the whole town doesn’t know about it. Give it a try though. Maybe on a day you can’t find anything else on Netflix to watch? It’s only on its second season so it is short. Let me know what ya think.

Riverdale
