The Mist Tree (s)

Published by The Poetess on

A locked eel is lost in someone’s cave,
and that it’s something the eel ever
wanted in its all life,

to run away from its padlock.

Like it’s a man trying to get rid
of his everyday worries.

Then there’s this tree, standing tall
like a statue of liberty,

so sure that
the wind won’t blow away its branches
and won’t wreck its body and roots.

Like it’s a woman and indeed
her beauty would make anyone
drop his jaw.

While lost inside the cave, the eel
found this lovely tree. And they
become used to each other’s
existence, that the eel
called it as the mist tree(s)—

it’s simply lived in the
shadows and
no light will ever reach it.

The eel knows sooner
the tree will eventually die.

The Poetess

Erratic. Playful. Poetic.

That’s a nice narration method because it makes the reader fantasize or imagine the story very easy
