CALL ME HOME
It is dark like a lonely night sky
Dreary and dismal
suffocating my very being
My heart beats faster with a dull thumping sound
Though it loves no more
Nor does it cherish hope
Life seems like a sad, sad dream
The undaunted absence of smiles
And cheery words
Sucks the soul
Out of my body
Dire depression overwhelms like a heavy quilt
Woven with broken dreams and a few vices
Darkness everywhere
Within and without
Curbs the happiness
Once I felt in my heart
Its death
In me
Which loneliness takes to bed
Every teary night
Nothing sparks anymore
Futile attempts at love
Are made
Love,
Which disappeared long before
I could find its soothing balm
Love,
Which averted its path from my own
There is no other end
To my weary tale
If ever there is to be
It is where I am.
