Forgotten is a poem written and shared by Maryam H. Viqar to The Ugly Writers under the theme Pandemic for the month of April.

Forgotten

My last memory
Is of a dandelion blown away
squirrels running up a tree
And ducks racing in a big pond

Molluscs hiding in tiny brown shells

While the wind at my hair did play
Sea foam rising to  kiss the clouds
Birds flapping up their wings to sway
For me this year the spring never came
Roses planted days ago, never once I saw again
Autumn crisped into cold and forgot to go away
It is too soon to wish upon the falling stars
For longer dreams and shorter night spans
Stars too might disappear soon
Behind the clouds of dust and smoke
If only hope shall overstay
بھار خواھد آمد
Spring will come
Spring will come
