Old Songs

I wanted to show you all my old songs,
and tell you what they meant to me,
I wanted to light your candles,
and let the morning blow them out

Time is a very strange thing-
it goes in and out of tune

And I wanted to show you all my old poems-
see what you think verses the new,
I wanted to light your incense,
and let the morning make no sense

Time can be a very strange thing-
when it goes on + on forever

I wanted to see all your old photographs,
so I could see you in the freeze frame,
when you were just a child,
& they called you by a different name
