On The Ball

On The Ball

On The Ball is a poem written by Kevin Rein and shared with The Ugly Writers for the month of November.

On The Ball

I’m done crying over spilled milk

Now I need to get back in shape

I’m done having eggs on my face

I have to jump first in

Best dressed

Gotta pick those plans up in the air

Get my goals to materialize

I have to kill a hundred birds in one stone now

No, I don’t need to make it one step at a time

I need to hurry now really

I’m so done with the crossroads

I still have my whole life in front of me

So I’m gonna be burning all the midnight oil

Elvis hasn’t left the building yet

I need my happiness freaking bad

This is the last straw and Imma win it

There’s no missing the boat again
