The World Stage’s Masquerade Ball of Play and Games

Wait lonely for this deceptive game to be over. But the game goes on, players keep playing.

The World Stage’s Masquerade Ball of Play and Games is a poem written by Tabassum Tahmina Shagufta Hussein and shared with The Ugly Writers under the theme The Games We Play for the month of April.

The World Stage’s Masquerade Ball of Play and Games

The world is a stage of play

Where we all are actors.

We play our games on our own terms.

Who is playing who?

Everyone.

A couple posing happy couple pictures on social media,

While in reality, the relationship exists only in the papers.

Paper marriage.

Fooling all with hypocrisy and wearing a good persona

Is the master player of the game.

False pretense going on while we play the game

It’s like the Masquerade Ball,

The game we all are playing.

The game played in reality and virtually?

Who is who in this game?

The majority of players enjoys the pleasures of the game in life

Very few flee and seek refuge in Keats’s world of the nightingale

And escapism

Wait lonely for this deceptive game to be over.

But the game goes on, players keep playing.

Deception, lies and hypocrisy.

It is life.

The waiting refugees in Keats world hope for Nietzsche’s Übermensch

While the life’s Masquerade ball goes on, the players continue to play the game.

Life is a game.

Life is a play in its all entirety.
