When you won’t recognize me

I know at some point of being miles away from me, Your longing for the loved one that sometimes I failed to make you feel.

When you won’t recognize me is a poem written by Fatima Mae Mendoza and shared with The Ugly Writers under the theme The Games We Play for the month of April.

When you won’t recognize me

I know at some point of being miles away from me,
Your longing for the loved one that
sometimes I failed to make you feel.
I know at some point you won’t recognize me at all,
Like you are wondering what my face looks like.

When you won’t recognize my face,
Just think for the person you look for in a
crowded room and when you remember me,
It means I’m the person you love.

Just like I’m the person you loved, By being the
first and the last person you heard every day.
There are many things you can remember
And to recognize me, even you are
wondering what my face is.

When you won’t recognize me,
I want you to close your eyes, Imagine your
hands in my hair like as you always do and
our lips touching, that atleast you remember me.

When you won’t recognize my face,
Remember every afternoon, after we go church,
We went on the rooftop watching the sunset down,
Taking pictures and always say
I’m beautiful without makeup.

Just like every time we lay on the bed,
You always compliment my eyes, because
as you always said my eyes won’t hide my feelings,
You just keep looking at it until I fall asleep.

It’s been a year, we haven’t been together
for a long time. I hope it keeps replaying on
your mind the day you as me if we’re official.
I know from the start we’ve been challenge each other.
We give options to leave in the beginning.

But instead, we still continue loving each,
We told to each other that we wouldn’t break
each other’s heart, and now that we’re not together
The loved is still covered and contained to grow.

I’m still in love with you mi amore.
