You will never be mine is a poem written by Anamie Espiritu and shared with The Ugly Writers for the theme Oh Snap! for the month of August
You will never be mine
Exhaled to my deepest when you pass by
All that exists starts with the question why
Why oh why can’t you hear my plea?
To listen to my heart and to be with me
This yearning has been with me for so long
Through my affection I have written you a song
I will sing it in my own special way
If only you could be with me someday
Aspired to be with you for the longest time
Always wanted to have called you mine
And yet there is someone you endear the most
With her present, I am merely a ghost
Despair was my company all throughout the year
Hoping that one day you will whisper to my ear
That I am the one you cared for, who you wanted to have
That I am the one and no one else you’ll love
It was difficult for me to take it in
That no matter what I do I will never win
Because you love her so, you love her so much
And nothing could change that, not even with my touch
I want you to be mine, and always just be
In your glittering eyes, it is only I that you see
But from this slumber, I have been woken
And knowing how long I have been so broken
My hopefulness has made me blind
To the many things I have left behind
Because you, you have always been fine
But I have to accept the fact that you will never be mine!
