I did is a poem written by kamiela and shared with The Ugly Writers under the theme Shining Bright / Deepest Black for the month of November

I did

When I looked into your eyes

I didn’t drown because it was deep

It was shallow as nothing

Yet your tears were overflowing

When I listened about what you feel

I didn’t because I know it was real

It’s because you’re hurting

Yet you keep on concealing

When I jumped inside your heart

I didn’t fall because of love

For the hole was never-ending

Yet you got tired of beating

When your words went missing

They can’t be seen because they were stolen

They have been scattered all along

Yet you are tired of retrieving

When I entered into your mind

I didn’t invade because I knocked

I thought I fell out of love

Yet I gave up on life
