TIMING is a poem written by Nicole Arubang and shared with The Ugly Writers under the theme PIYAR for the month of February
TIMING
Most gates are wide open,
But not the one we wanted to go to.
Some doors are locked,
And yet, we fought our way in.
Perhaps there’s a key?
What is meant to be will be,
It will find its way into our life.
Just as how it comes upon you and me.
When I saw you,
I felt something inexplicable.
It’s as to how the universe is perfectly aligned.
But no, I don’t love you.
I’m just wondering
If someone like me can have you.
I thought I’ll be too slow to wait
And too swift to get ahead.
Maybe all it takes—
Is exquisite timing.
And when that day comes,
To waste it is to be a fool.
