Scenery

We lean on a barrier, two meters apart from each other. Facing the sea; watching the sunset, The calmness of water makes you move.

Scenery is a poem written by Nicole Arubang and shared with The Ugly Writers under the theme Through My Eyes for the month of March

Scenery

We lean on a barrier,
two meters apart from each other.
Facing the sea; watching the sunset,
The calmness of water makes you move.

The tenderness of bittersweet wind—
Makes you go closer to where I stand.
The brightness of fading sunset,
Reveals the unexpected feelings I had for you.

Isn’t it more romantic than the movie
we had watched? You comforting me,
Trying to win my heart with the best advice.
And what’s sweeter than ice cream?

Seems like this scene was the best for us.
Because Joy is here— within our heart.
Unlike the movie, this was our place to begin.
And not the place to say, “Hello, Love, Goodbye.”
