One Day, You Will is a poem written by Nicole Arubang and shared with The Ugly Writers under the theme Through The Eyes for the month of March
One Day, You Will
You will remember the times,
when she always says, “I miss you”
the moments she used to turn off her phone
and just stare at your face
while savouring every moment
You will yearn for days,
when she is willing to make time
just to go out with you
drink some coffee, eat street foods
and laugh at the stoplights.
You will look for the seconds
that she almost gave everything she had,
love you with what was left of her
and kissed you with every broken
pieces of her heart.
One day, you’ll seek that person—
who can love you with every bit of her
who’s willing to learn how to handle you
she, who would die to be alive
and seize every minute she’s with you.
One day, you will see her,
not looking at you.
You’ll be in love with her,
but she won’t feel the same.
You’ll dream of her, while
She’s wishing for someone else.
One day, you will cry for her
the way she did for you.
You will miss her, while she is already
in love with someone new.
