Fallen Leaf

If only thy could have seen, Tears behind my smile, And agony behind my veil.

Fallen Leaf is a poem written by Khazran Khan and shared with The Ugly Writers under the theme Through The Eyes for the month of March

Fallen Leaf

Through my eyes, dearie!

If only thy could have seen,

Tears behind my smile,

And agony behind my veil.

Look! how spring passed by,

Detaching itself from autumn,

Cutting all the tied knots,

By blowing its withered petals.

Is that the law of Nature?

That how we should treat :

Our loved one’s in this life.

Sucking energy from them,

And draining all their peace,

Leaving them, forlorn, like ;

A fallen leaf on the ground.
