The Arrival

When the man who dresses black robes Comes to knock, To doom, blooming red roses destined are.

The Arrival is a poem written by Kian Zehtabian and shared with The Ugly Writers under the them Organized Chaos for the month of September

The Arrival

Once he arrives
The roots of ancient trees rot
It’s inevitable—
When the man who dresses black robes
Comes to knock,
To doom, blooming red roses destined are.
No trees hear their fellow birds sing
No lover gazes into the beloveds shining eyes
People say by him terrified are
He is not beautiful nor does he smile
Yet he will be the guest at our houses
And we will all travel with him
Into to the depth of the night.
And at last, when no river is dancing
In the arms of ground
And no tornado residing in any desert
Causes no more chaos
There will be peace
And he has already arrived.
