The Age I Longed For

Now that I'm 28, I wonder why have I been longing for numbers all these times and hoping something miraculous happens. Maybe it's time, I make my own miracles.

The Age I Long For is a short story written by Shi Hui of IReviewUread and shared with The Ugly Writers under the theme Ulayaw for the month of February

The Age I Long For

When I was 10, I longed to turn 15.

I thought when I turn 15, I’ll have the best year of my life.

But before I knew it, the year come and go and suddenly,

I’m in the dark.

So I made a new goal, I longed for 21.

The year when I can finally be a legal adult but mentally still a child.

Many things happened but it was not the year I’m looking for.

So I gave myself time and waited till I was 28.

Now that I’m 28, I wonder why have I been longing for numbers all these times and hoping something miraculous happens.

Maybe it’s time, I make my own miracles.
