burnt candle, snuffed out, burn out, dying

Dying Passion

Maybe it's the curse of adulting, feels like little by little the fire in me is slowly fading, I feel like what I want is not what I am meant for, 'cause everytime I try, I get tired

Embark on a poignant journey through the eyes of a fading dreamer. Dying Passion is a poem on the struggles to find purpose, the waning fire of passion, and the delicate balance between holding on and letting go— expressing the raw emotions of a heart caught between dreams and reality.

Dying Passion

I used to be a dreamer,
used to be so eager,
then it hit me,
feels like a bucket full of ice was poured all over me,
awakened me from my illusion,
made me realize not everyone is cut out for something,
like how one puzzle piece is not fit for every jigsaw

Maybe it’s the curse of adulting,
feels like little by little the fire in me is slowly fading,
I feel like what I want is not what I am meant for,
’cause everytime I try,
I get tired

With heavy steps, I start to believe
if it burns you out, maybe,
just maybe, it ain’t for you,
now picturing my passionate dream,
was not appealing as it was before,

I still keep on fantasizing,
trying to keep that little fire,
but, it really is a challenge to keep on staying,
when passion itself is slowly dying.
