Voice

Let me find my reasons to live and hope. Don’t allow anger cuts our connection, Tie our words to create a combination.

Voice is a poem written by Jemica Colasito and shared with The Ugly Writers under the theme Finding Your Voice for the month of September

Voice

Screaming at me for what I got wrong,

Shouting so loud to hear your voice.

Letting me know that I am yours,

Making me feel that I had no choice.

Obeying you was the only option,

Acting the way you always told.

Reminding me how the world works,

Telling me not to question your decisions.

Instructing my steps towards your desired destination,

Crossing the path of your selection.

Shaping my character based on your definition,

Becoming the person of your imagination.

But, please hear my voice.

Let my soul know its worth.

Let my mind exist its creation,

Let me find my reasons to live and hope.

Don’t allow anger cuts our connection,

Tie our words to create a combination.

Strengthen our bonds through communication,

Build our memories full of passion.

In my life, I value you the most.

With your wisdom, I will never be lost.

I just want to be the host,

Of my life once and foremost.
