Into the Woods

Amidst the trees, I lose my fear Their hushed wisdom draws me near

Into the Woods is a poem written by Peter Junriel and shared with The Ugly Writers under the theme Trust The Process for the month of November

Into the Woods

Into the woods through night and day
Not a single shoulder to hold onto
No compass to grasp, I create a way
I continue the hike, it damps my face
Feel my beat, every second a two
Unclear chirps, indistinctive roars
In nature’s symphony, I find my clue.

Amidst the trees, I lose my fear
Their hushed wisdom draws me near
Underneath the stars, a compass I found
Nothing to hide in moonlight’s grace
The path I forge, it’s mine to know
Into the woods, my spirit grows

I paint with letters, bridging the gaps my stutter creates.
