Hallucinations is poem written by Adiella Szelou Domingo and shared with The Ugly Writers under the theme Intrusive Thoughts for the month of May

I started seeing things.

You told me, they weren’t real.

So, I dip my hands in water,

ripples of reflection swept

through that night. Flickers of

light made me sight silhouettes,

like blurred paper trails of what

ghosts leave behind. Or an hour-

glass-figured outcast playing

house in our home.

Then, I dreamt of a stranger

the sound of wine staining sheets,

colored red by the mark on your neck.

I started seeing things. And I knew

I saw things. But you told me

they weren’t real.
