My Bucket Hat

My bucket hat is a shield-maiden,
protector of my crowning glory,
wards off energy vampires,
defends me from evil eyes.

She, that’s right,
my bucket hat is a “she,”
her unwavering loyalty lets me
use her shield for my crown chakra.

I hold onto her tightly when
hands of breezes try to take her away,
a fierce warrior who won’t let go,
my bucket hat is strong.

She retires when I am home,
my bucket hat greets her sisters,
they form a trifecta of colors:
black, navy blue, and khaki.
