Solitude

Silhouette of Woman

Solitude is a poem written by Nisha Raviprasad and shared with The Ugly Writers under the theme Retrospective for the month of September

silhouette of woman

I walk down

cobbled streets

into the fog of the unkown

yet in the arms

of my haggard life,

I feel a welcome tug

a tug lulling

at the crevices of my soul…

You had walked

beside me,

draped me in rich

blossoms of velvet roses

and smothered me

with honey sweet

love

But how beautiful

is this solitude

I feel today

among coffee and books.

I don’t miss you

anymore

‘Coz I know

you never meant

any of it at all.

that tug is my drink of solitude.
