WITHI̶N̶ is a poem written by biel and shared with The Ugly Writers under the theme Begin Again
In the quiet room, where shadows dance,
I feel the absence, a lover’s trance.
Once adorned with warmth, now cold and bare,
Love’s battlefield, where hearts lay bare.
In all prepared battles, side by side,
But now I stand alone, with wounded pride.
My love, my guide, now far away,
Leaving me to face the fray.
In this war of emotions, I’m lost at sea,
Yearning for the touch, that once set me free.
What meals to cook, in love’s cruel game?
When hearts are shattered, who is to blame?
In pondering choices, feeling opaque,
No rice to cook, no meals to make.
I drift through days, in a daze of pain,
Hoping love’s light will shine again.
In the darkness, I reach out my hand,
Searching for solace, in a barren land.
But in the night, I find my solace true,
the laughter and joy, of hearts anew.
In the midst of war, love still thrives,
the hearts of those, who dare to survive.
So I’ll push through the chaos, with all my might,
For love is the victor, in the darkest night.
In the battlefield of love, at such a tender age,
I endure the onslaught, this relentless stage.
My strength falters, as wounds deepen and grow,
Yet forward I march, despite the crushing blow.
In the skirmish of affection, focus starts to fade,
But I press on, in the shadows’ cascade.
Releasing what I cannot grasp, what I cannot mold,
Trusting the path, as love’s tale unfolds.
