Sodden collar

Lacerating skin

clinging to the very earth you towered above.

Teardrops water your desiccated roots

That were once filled with life

Sorrows that Foster your soul.

It breaks-off your own self worth

Your notions ascertain it eternal

But it’s just an illustration you hold

Your bleeding heart

Hurting nerves

Needs you

It is the incandescent dirt you shake loose.

Look up to the future

If not all and Sundry

In the end, it’s all you.
