Spaces

Spaces

I hear you whispering my name more often than I care to admit.

Maybe you are not right there waiting for me.

But I like to remember that at one point, you were.

Calling to me, beckoning me to join you.

To follow you and take your hand.

You once led me on adventures that others would envy.

To places that I had never been.

To spaces that made my heart soar.

We spoke of everything and nothing at all.

You never once let me out of your line of sight.

When did that all change?

When did I have to start looking for you?

Calling for you?

Chasing after you?

Your swift departure left me wanting more.

More of your kiss. Your embrace.

More of your hand holding mine.

More of you.

I still walk down lonely corridors hoping to find you on my next turn.

You are never there waiting for me.

I hear you whispering my name more often than I care to admit.
