We Are Queer Geese

We Are Queer Geese

Because of vile prejudice,

We were treated as ugly ducklings

That needed to be “cured”

Into perfect monotone fowls.

There is no use in denying on who we are,

There is use in hating on who we truly are,

Because we are born swans,

Whose rainbow feathers weave beauty and freedom

To everyone who lives with love in their hearts.

We don’t sing swan songs

For homophobes’ and transphobes’ fetishes and pity,

Our honks and hiss transform

Rebellious riots into pride parades,

Peer-pressure shame into defiant love,

Fragile weakness into gorgeous strength.

We don’t offer hate of any kind

An option of peace.
