Nowhere Can The Golden Light Stay

In the waning moments of twilight

As night birds call softly to the sky

cicadas and crickets noisily singing

as the golden hour slowly drifts by.

Baby kit foxes look on in amazement

sudden silence at the end of the day

a lone mouse sits, watching the radiance

for nowhere can the golden light stay.
