The Ifs of Us

If there’s

A bridge

I could cross

no matter

how long,

that would

take me

to where

you are,

I’d gladly

run

to the

other end

to reach you.

If i could

traverse

the vast

space

that

separates us,

in no time,

I would…

Just

to be

right

beside  you…

And feel

the warmth

of your

embrace

as we hold

each other

tight..

But it’s

a question

of could we,

would we,

should we…

When we

aren’t so sure

of what

brings us

close together.

If it

isn’t love,

I’m not sure.

If it is love,

I hope

it’s pure.

If it is nothing,

that should

tell us

something.

The question

remains

and

the answer

lies in wait.

But for now,

just you and I

matters.

Don’t mind

the distance.

It’s you and me

and nothing else.

Just me and you…

Come, let’s get

through.

to the earth we return
