how light exists is a poem written by Casey Cyra and shared with The Ugly Writers under the theme Creating Sparks for the month of December
could you tell me how?
the sound waves of
your snuffles graphs
to a gentle ballad
could you tell me how?
the fault lines on your palms
make me think of how pressure
shapes the highest of mountains
tell me how the constellations
upon your skin
line up like the ones
in the night sky
tell me how the warp
of your iris pulls me in,
exposing the secrets
of dark energy that
they sought for
will you tell me how?
the blackholes under
those eyes seem to be the
answers for traveling
across the multiverse
will you tell me how?
the tiny strings in your belly
resemble the ones that scattered
when the universe was born
tell me how the hollow
engraved in your heart
reminds me how
gravity does its work
to carry the world
tell me why and tell me how
how you could create light,
so beautiful,
shining in your own spectrum
