Boys and girls may break your heart, nothing that can’t be healed by a few bottle of beers and litter of tears. But trust me when I say, once a family member breaks your heart, regardless a number of tears you cried, or the number of bottled beers you’ve drunk, it won’t be healed. It will break you into pieces, even more than the way your first love can break you. And so, this is the story of how I came to be broken, incapable of being fixed despite being happily committed.
I grew up with my mom and dad switching roles, my mom works and my dad stays at home. Like any other daughter, I’m a daddy’s girl but mostly because he’s the one who I can easily turn to. I love my family, it wasn’t perfect, but just perfect the way I wanted it. Going home was something my brother and I always looked forward, because home is where we are kids despite being an adult because home is where our family is. Yet in a short span of time, the family I love came spiraling down the hill faster than anyone can ever imagine. The once laughter filled home now filled with screaming and crying echoes. The once perfect family in my eyes came crumbling down and suffocating each one of us.
Once perfect, now broken.
A broken family because of you, dad.
A broken family because of you, and your mistress.
My heart’s broken, and it’s all because of you, dad.

Though my Dad has a mistress and 3 illegitimate children, my Mother forgave him. Her reason? She know who’s God, she believes that everything happens for a reason and because there’s always a purpose, so when Dad’s mistress died, she accepted our 3 half siblings to be part of the family. My mother is a true mother, that’s what i see.
