Letting Go

Letting Go

I dreamt I saw you.

Perhaps I did see you

in the distance of my

imagination.

And I caught the moment

stilled in shock

and

held on to it.

I held it

and

the past held

for another moment,

our past,

and then I freed it

to fly

away

like a bird,

as if you

were a bird.
