DISTRACTIONS

Distractions

I write

As night begins to dance to

An uncannily serene tune

A trickle of water somewhere

Drips…

and distracted I…

lose myself in a distant reverie

Forgetting completely where I am

Or who…

I listen to honking cars,

Rarely passing by

At this hour of the night

My eyes watch the falling stars

Forsaken by night skies

I listen to a lost bird’s tiny shriek too

Amidst all the music,

My verse, my words have disappeared

I am alert and curious

But my poetry sleeps tonight.

And I… can’t write.

A seeker, dreamer, scribbler, reader, writing poetry as musings of a restless mind....and yes 'the sight of the stars makes me dream' too....
