FORGOTTEN TALES

Forgotten Tales

Strolling silently

In the wilderness

I stopped by a Neem tree

With branches wide,

Stretched to welcome

A tired visitor

To dream ceaselessly in its soothing shade

Its sole companions

Are the chirping birds

Leaving the tree every morn

And returning when they are fed.

What stories it carries within its shadow

Tired visitors might have

Unburdened

Their lonely hearts,

It might have heard

Tales of lost friends,

Or new found love

Children might have played under his watchful care

Its shade might have

Patted to sleep

Some fallen warrior

After a soul clenching battle.

I touch gently its majestic leaves

And feel forbearance and resilience

Flow through my fingers

Warming up my veins

Like liquid light seeping

with a gentle hum

Overwhelmed completely,

I write a few lines

Of poetry

But,

Like the others I too shall leave.

A seeker, dreamer, scribbler, reader, writing poetry as musings of a restless mind....and yes 'the sight of the stars makes me dream' too....
