Depression is something you would not wish to invade your life. Not even once you would want to experience this terrible thing because once it entered you, death will be your only escape. When you have depression, nothing is enjoyable. Nothing can make you smile. It feels like you’re a ghost and not a part of the real world. It’s like drowning except you can see everyone around you breathing.
Depression (major depressive disorder) is a common and serious medical illness that negatively affects how you feel, the way you think and how you act. Fortunately, it is also treatable. Depression causes feelings of sadness and/or a loss of interest in activities once enjoyed. It can lead to a variety of emotional and physical problems and can decrease a person’s ability to function at work and at home.
When someone you know and love is clinically depressed, you would want to be there for that person. You must be very careful in every word you would say that might affect somebody’s condition negatively. Still, keep in mind that your friend or loved one has a medical condition, so giving support may mean more than just offering a shoulder to cry on.

Depression is one of the most alarming disorders that is very destructive to people. When we observe clinical symptoms of depression towards someone, we must help them recover. We must refer them to psychologist/psychiatrist before something worse happen. We must take actions before everything gets worse.
Everybody can be a victim of depression, even us. So for us to prevent depression, we must address our problems and solve it. We must not also overthink. Let us fight and overcome depression.
Nice :)

Depression is a medical illness. It is a growing problem in today’s society and is often a major contributing factor for most problems. The thought of suicide is most commonly brought on by depression. We must not take it for granted, let us be aware and be educated about such issue as it is something that should be given attention.
Depression. ??? sorry for this sad comment. ??
It’s okay dear… You should work on your depression… That can be fatal. List things that makes you happy…
Thank you.
I believe everyone should be aware about the effects of depression. If anyone you know is experiencing depression, at least try to seek help, reach out and be there for them.
Wow. This speaks to me in so many levels. As someone who experienced it various times, I believe that it just never get better. Life as we know it just keeps messing us up. We might find happiness, but will only last until we realize that it only an illusion.
But we can always stand up. We were made to pick ourselves up. The very thought that “I can survive this day and make up small victories” is what keeps me from being swallowed by the entity that I call as Depression.
To be honest I don’t know if this comment helps much, but I’m speaking my mind from my own small battles. :)
ANGAS! :)

NICE ONE! BUTI NLANG HINDI AKO DEPRESS
it’s a terrible sickness, because many people assume it means you’re mentally weird and that there’s something wrong with you, or that you choose to be depressed. I feel bad for people who are depressed. It’s a debilitating condition. True depression is an actual medical disorder, not a cry for attention.
Galing. Buti na lang happy ako lagi para iwas depress. :)

i think I am better than Rizal because I love and I’m loyal to my country. Not like him because Dr. Jose Rizal loved Spain. He wanted the Philippines to become a “state” or part of Spain — not a free Philippines.
I think I am better than Dr. Jose Rizal because I am loyal to my own country. :)

I am way better than Rizal due to this quote, ” Ang hindi magmahal sa sariling wika ay daig pa ang hayop at malansang isda.”- J.P Rizal. To me, it is quiet ironic as he himself a Filipino put this into writing but tends to patronize other languages, specifically Spanish. He is indeed a hypocrite. Unlike him, I stand for what I feel and believe.

I am better than Rizal because as a writer, I wouldn’t even think of retracting my works(even tho this is still questional). You put your integrity and credibility at stake by doing such action. Once you’ve written it, you must have the final word for it.

*questionable omg ?
Depression can lead you to suicide so I suggest that every depressed individual should have a care or support from his family or friends in order to make him never feel alone whenever there’s a thing that bothers him. Listen and support whatever the depressed person says and advise him what’s the best solution

I am better than Rizal because I can express my feelings when writing better using my mother tongue unlike him.
Good one!
Depression falls under the category of mental health-related concerns. When it gets worse, most likely it would lead a person to commit suicide. Worst case happens when an individual cannot help the person who suffers from depression. At that point, he/she needs to seek professional help. But what if he/she cannot afford to consult a psychologist? That question led me to an idea of what law I’m going to implement which will be beneficial to those who need consultation. The law shall be known as “Mental Health Care Act of 2017” or “Republic Act No. 221770”. This law increases the budget allocated for mental health-related concerns. Maintaining good mental health is the main purpose of having this law around. Upon implementation of this law, free consultation to psychologists and psychiatrists will be provided. If any of those professionals refused to help any of possible beneficiary of this law, then he/she will be imprisoned in the range of two to three years or pay a fine of P100,000.00.

It is hard to let go depression especially for those are actually suffering. It can also kill us. Look for a professional help in order to prevent someone from dying. Don’t think negative rather always think positive. And make your life HAPPY! -Arienne Zhel Gadiano (ELE15)
*especially for those who are actually suffering from it.
Tremendous number of people commit suicide, that is why I am pushing the Mental Health law. This aims to provide literacy for students, workers and even those who just stay at home for us to be educated enough to handle the factors that lead to suicide. Psychologists will have a discussion with an allotted time of 1 1/2 hr regarding the most common mental heal problems and their signs and symptoms. Also, more mental hospitals will be established in the most serene places like on top of the mountains to keep the patients away from stress and other factors that will contribute to killing themselves.

Depression starts like a thief, without us noticing that it may lead to unwanted circumstances. The Department of Health only allotted 10% of the budget given to them to mental health problems. In which I supposed should be higher that the usual. They are allotting more budget to the physical health but little did we know, the major causes of physical emergencies are through our mind. A law should be created that, the government must require it’s people to attend seminars, conferences and counseling programs to avoid any mental health problems. In this way we can avoid any mental health problems that always lead to depression. A person with this kind of health problems must be supported and counsel to clear his mind and to make his mental state healthy. This law shall be called “mental Health Counseling Law”

“Republic Act No. 221770″
Accoding to this act that Depression is not a matter to take lightly. It is not something to dismiss regularly, but to take to heart and find help. Hundreds of people commit suicide each day because of depression. If you are or know someone who is depressed get help. Do not hold it in forever, for you may be liable to do the same thing. and someday i hope that the depression victims, is that you’re sadnesss will replaced by something beautiful. DONT LET YOURSELF CRY BECAUSE YOU ARE YOU. just be yourself and smile and LET GOD.
