Who knows, maybe this crash was unavoidable.  Perhaps the lessons I learned through it have kept me from making more serious mistakes.

These 20 years of family gatherings came to an abrupt end when my mother-in-law passed away in 1993, and my father-in-law passed away two years later.   We eventually established new family traditions, but we all remember that special unplanned Christmas gathering in 1979 when everybody was with us.

This year’s race was supposed to be special for me since I am now a personal trainer at Safari Island Community Center in Waconia, and I know a number of the great people who live here.

I am so thankful this year for a very successful launch into my new health and fitness career.  I consider this my “re-tirement”, as in getting two new tires on my bicycle so that I can keep moving forward.

The Back Room

I didn’t know what an “alcoholic” looks like up close, or how they think or act, but this experience brought me to the realization that they look, think and act a lot like you and me

The Value of Work

“How dull it is to pause, to make an end, To rest unburnished, not to shine in use! As though to breathe were life!”

Racing By The Numbers

I don’t know what motivates you on a daily, weekly, monthly, annual or lifetime basis to say no to the extra donut, or to get your butt to the gym, or to accomplish whatever other personal goals you have. Whatever it is, just go for it! Be creative, be true to your goals, keep at it, and have fun doing it!
