Youth, Love, and Truth

Youth, Love, and Truth

Youth told me that love breaks bones

but time made me wiser with laughs

as Life showed me that love grows

into a companionship of two souls.

Youth told me that love breaks bones

but dignity proved to be all that matters

in a world plagued with shallowness,

selfishness and narcissistic males.

Youth told me that love breaks bones

but experience showed me success

in love is reserved for similar minds

with shared dreams and priorities.

Maturity told me love never breaks

as it walks on trust breaths

kindness, travels through souls,

ages with gossip, and speaks in silence.
