I Am a Rose

I am a rose to those

With eyes and fingertips.

I touch your soul not just your nose.

I dance in the wind

To show you freedom.

I rise among thorns

To teach you perseverance.

I speak in silence

Of beauty that charms

And end wars

With a touch of poise.

I am a flame to those

whose souls Life made tame.

I am hope to those

whose hearts death took apart.

I am beauty to those

whose minds thought consumed.

I am a rose to those

who stay to watch dew set passion ablaze.

I am love, life’s eternal rose

whose petals rest on time’s calyx

to blossom in dreams.

Hope pollinates me

Truth waters me

Sacrifice nourishes me.

I grow in understanding and die

when you give up fighting.

I am a rose to those who chose

to cherish though destined to perish.

I am life’s truest form:

and change’s uniform

pleated in reform for those

who refuse to conform but to one norm.

I am love a rose who chose

freedom over chaos

I give myself to those

Who believe in “us”!
