To the man who can’t be named

As the first-ever entry for the August theme, nothing gets more depressing than writing a poem about missed shots to the man who can’t be named.

Just like a star
I will always look up and wonder how you are.
For I will remember the warmth of your embrace;
And miss you in the rain.

We shared not only the heat of the sun
But also the cold of every night.
Together we got lost with the beauty of constellation
And got drowned by the sea of love.

We laughed and cry
Fight and reconcile
We’ve been hurt by our differences
But through love we survive.

You served as my comfort
When things felt dry
You held my hand
During times I thought I’ll die.

I wonder how much more coffee do I need
To bring back the same warmth that you brought into my life.
However, just like coffee, there is a bitter taste in our smile
As you and I have to say goodbye.
