Lone Wolf is an editorial piece written by Mira Dizon and shared with The Ugly Writers under the theme Trust The Process for the month of November

Being a lone wolf, is it by choice or by fate?
Navigating the dangerously cold woods, her shadow is her only companion. No packs, no alpha or elder wolf to be her guide a long the way. The rules of the serene forest are taught the hardest way, for you have to experience it all first. May it be the best of worst of all experiences.
Whenever she’s wounded, she would hide and lick the cuts or bites all by her own. The scars may remain and be permanent but these will be the visible proofs. They speak the hardships and adversities she has to go through and endure all alone.
She has the knowledge that other wolves or even packs may never know as she silently watch everything from a distance. She trusts no one for it may cause her demise. Sometimes, walking all by yourself is safer and better. The pain of bite is far painful and fatal as it may attack your insides.
It may be melancholic when you think about being lone, be fine still. Trust that the universe has it’s own way of making things wonderful and amazing. One day, when you look back, it all happened the way it should be. Everything may have worked the best way possible for you. You’ll be proud to say that you did it all by yourself. All credit belongs to you, lone wolf!
