I don’t want to be your friend but…

I spend so much time thinking about what I did wrong.

Crying at that empty doorway

Reminiscing on what we had to realized that

that was long gone because of what you become

How can someone so close turned into someone so distance?

You call me a bad friend but do you honestly think that you’re any better.

I spend all this time reflecting, blaming myself but,

all you did is move on and erase the past.

To fear and to run from the past this much

When I am a person of your past too.

You made me not want to be me.

To silence parts of myself that I am most enthusiastic about.

To make me feel that there’s something wrong with me.

After stepping back and talking to others I then realized that I’m not insane.

That I’m not treated how I’m supposed to be treated.

I just let you have your way because I treasure your friendship.

But you keep doing it over and over again.

The memories of us being happy is now overtaken by the reality of me being taken advantage of.

After that much time apart,

You’re knocking on my door again.

But yet I can’t stop forgiving you.
