Afterlife

Afterlife is a poem written and shared by Fatima Mae Mendoza to The Ugly Writers for the month of April with the theme Pandemic.

Afterlife

You existence is now baggage you’re
becoming convinced isn’t worth carrying.

There’s so much bad placked in it.
In every pocket you find either pain,
sadness, or bad luck.

You believe thay the end of the
pain is ending your life.

No, the pain doesn’t end when you end,
the pain is mean to be lived through
and it is meant to be crossed as you
find your way into healing

Ending your will only give other people
a pain to carry and cross themselves.

Heartbreaks hurt, but nothing hurts
more than death, though you are
not around to feel it.

You must believe this is just a season.
Universe has proven so far too many
times that season change and some
are easier to enjoy
